Ola drivers call off strike, Uber continues

The Ola spokesperson announced the withdrawal with an announcement , “Confirmed, the strike being called off with immediate effect.”

The drivers of radio cabs aggregator Ola called off their strike on Wednesday. This happened after some of the demands such as retaining drivers who have been blacklisted was agreed upon, followiing a meeting between Mumbai Police, union leaders of drivers and officials from Ola management. However, in a bid to dissuade aggregator cabs from plying, eggs were thrown inside and on their vehicles.

The Ola spokesperson announced the withdrawal with an announcement , “Confirmed, the strike being called off with immediate effect.” 

Additionally, Ola Spokesperson also stated, Ola would like to apologise to all its customers for the inconvenience caused due to factors beyond its control. With every passing hour, our cabs are fast getting back on the road to service the mobility needs of all customers. Thank you for your continued trust and understanding.”

When last information trickled in, the Uber drivers continued to be on strike as the talks with the management were still unconclusive. Meanwhile, sources said that Ola agreed to reinstate drivers who have been blacklisted. 
These are the ones who got poor ratings from the passengers for any reason. Sources said that at least 20 percent of the drivers were blacklisted. There are 80000 drivers riding both Ola and Uber while 60000 tourist cabs are registered in Mumbai’s different RTOs. 

The strike by these drivers had entered its third day. In the first half cabs were available however by second half surge pricing was seen as number of vehicles dro-pped.
