The Tardeo police have arrested three people for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl. The incident came into light after the victim disclosed to her school teacher about a 45-year-old man touching her inappropriately on different occasions. Going by the details, the teacher apprehended that the girl had been raped frequently.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Sajid Abdul Rahman (45) who is the uncle of the victim, her cousin Nur Hasan Abdul Rahman Mulla (22) and her neighbour Shahrukh Sallauddin Shaikh (22).

According to the police, the victim, a resident of Tardeo, complained of severe stomach ache at school on December 3. When her class teacher asked her the reason, she spoke of a man touching her private parts and hurting her frequently. The teacher, on sensing something fishy, immediately took the girl for counselling where she revealed that Rahman, who stays in her neighbourhood and her cousin Mulla had raped her several times. The minor girl also revealed she was raped by her neighbour Shaikh two years ago.

After the revelation, the teacher immediately alerted the girl's mother. On December 5, the duo approached Tardeo police and registered a case against the accused people. Subsequently, the police arrested the trio who confessed to the crime.

"The accused have been booked for rape (section 376) under the under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," said a police officer.
