A body of a month-old baby cut in half was found by a village in Nalasopara on Sunday. The police have sent the body for a DNA test to confirm the baby’s gender. Found at Ghaas gaon, the baby was bitten by rodents and stray dogs. The police have filed a case. The post-mortem and DNA reports are awaited.
Local resident Sonya Navsha Valvi said, “Around 2.30pm I went for a walk and came across the baby’s body. It was found in a secluded spot amid the bushes in a plastic bag.”
“We have registered a case under Section 318 of the IPC against unknown persons,” said Girish Dighavkar, assistant inspector, Nalasopara police station.
