Three of the bridges will come up at Chheda Nagar Junction.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Monday approved construction of six flyovers and an underpass in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Three of the bridges will come up at Chheda Nagar Junction.
As first reported by dna on September 16 last year, three bridges will be constructed with an aim to cut short waiting time at the junction's traffic signals.
"The executive committee recommended to the authority on road network improvement project to rid the traffic chaos being created by the innumerable vehicles assimilating at Chheda Nagar from the Santa Cruz-Chembur Link Road and the Eastern Freeway. Both these roads provide hassle-free traffic movement only to be slowed down at the Ghatkopar East junction. The proposal is to construct two flyovers and an elevated road to decongest the junction," said UPS Madan, MMRDA commissioner.
As per the plan, a 680m-long flyover from Sion towards Thane will be erected parallel to the existing bridge at a cost of Rs57.66 crore. The second flyover will be 1,240-metre-long above the existing bridge catering to the traffic coming from Navi Mumbai and headed to Thane. This one is estimated to cost Rs94.39 crore. The third one will be 650-metre-long connecting the existing Chheda Nagar flyover with Amar Mahal Junction flyover at an estimated cost of Rs52.28 crore.
The rest of the three flyovers and an underpass is planned to come up in the Navi Mumbai region of MMR. The locations are Larsen & Toubro Junction on Shil Phata-Mahape Road, between Ghansoli Naka and Talawali Naka, on Savita Chemicals Naka, and an underpass at Mahape Junction on Thane-Belapur Road. The estimated total cost of these four projects is pegged at Rs337.85 crore.
