BJP president Amit Shah is to hold a review meeting with party office-bearers and district presidents in Mumbai on Friday. And needless to say, they are nervous!

Shah is likely to discuss important issues including appointment of the state unit with the core committee before the meeting. He will meet the core committee members between 10.30am and 11.30am after which he will hold the review meeting for membership drive in the state.

BJP's nation-wide membership drive, launched two months ago, has attracted more than two crore people across the country, but Maharashtra has registered just over two million members.

Party sources told dna that the party leadership had already taken note of statements made by a handful senior ministers which had given the government and the party a bad name.

Shah, according to sources, may indirectly refer to this by identifying these leader and sending a signal so that they rally behind chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

On being asked about this, a senior leader said: "Our party does not operate this way, and those who needed to be pulled up have already been. Amitbhai may make a reference to this at the core committee meeting."

Amit Shah may also ask senior ministers, who had so far been excused on account of government formation, etc, to participate actively in the membership drive.

Senior ministers including Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Khadse, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Vinod Tawde and Pankaja Munde-Palave would also attend the core committee meeting.
