Man brutally killed with electric shocks

A 24-year-old electrician was allegedly killed by being subjected to electric shocks. The perpetrators ensured the youth a slow death by tying his hands with electric wires to a chair, and passing electric current through the wires at intervals. Manpada police have registered a case of murder against unidentified persons.

Manharan Verma, 24, resident of Dombivli and native of Chhattisgarh was working with a construction firm in Palava as an electrician. His body was found at an under-construction site, where he was working, in Palava city in Dombivli.

"Verma was found tied to a chair in the electrical room of a construction site with the wires used to electrocute him. His hands were badly burnt, and his body had fallen from the chair due to which he suffered injuries on the head and nose," said a Manpada police officer.

Narayan Deshmukh, Police Inspector, Manpada police station, said, "Earlier we had registered a case of accidental death, but later we registered a case under section 302(murder) of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified persons."

"The postmortem report revealed the man was given electric shock for long time at intervals. The hands of the victim was burnt completely.", said Deshmukh.
