The 19th day of November is celebrated globally as International Men's Day, and dna came up with an initiative to help its male readers improve personal and business etiquette. Titled 'dna Gentleman's Program', the event was held on Sunday.

The workshop was conducted by Seema Lahiri and Siddhartha Sarkar, certified groomers and etiquette trainers by the International Finishing Academy, which was also the knowledge partner for this event.

About the event, Lahiri said: "The attitude, fervour and lively spirit demonstrated by the enthused audience was encouraging and a rewarding experience."

Echoing Lahiri's sentiments, Sarkar said: "The programme is a great concept and initiative by dna, which has been the first of its kind. It was a great opportunity to reach out to a large audience from various walks of life and create awareness about the importance of personal grooming."

The workshop saw a packed house and attendees coming from all ages groups, the youngest being a 10-year-old boy, and the oldest, a 66-year-old gentleman.

It was a highly interactive session providing meticulous details on various aspects of business etiquette and personal grooming like handshakes, body Language, business talks, meetings and dress code.

Mayank Jain, a software engineer working at TCS, said: "The programme was a nice platform to learn all the aspects of being a well-groomed gentleman in today's world."

Ravindra Ubhayakar, a chartered accountant, concurred, saying: "I got great insight into various new areas of business etiquette, which will come in handy in my professional life. Ultimately, we learnt how to impress upon people that we meet in business and make lasting relationships with them."

The workshop was conducted at the Westin hotel, Garden City, which was also the hospitality partner for the event.

Anuraag Bhatnagar, assistant general manager of Starwood Hotels Resorts, spoke highly of the venue. He said: "Being a wellness brand, Westin Hotels promotes all to 'Feel Well', which is one of the six pillars during their professional and personal time. Being well-groomed at work always increases one's confidence level. This workshop has given quite a lot of handy tips on how to be well-presented and can be easily used by men from all walks of society."
