Establish a personal touch with people: Devendra Fadnavis to party members

Enrolling as a primary member of the party, Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister and state BJP president, on Tuesday, encouraged other members to ensure that they broaden the base of the party in the state and not get bogged down by the criticism of other political parties.

Fadnavis asked all those present at the Mumbai BJP headquarters in Dadar to dial the toll free number and give a missed call in order to get registered with the party. Maharashtra has the maximum number of mobile users and Fadnavis asked members to tap them and establish a personal touch with people.Pledge of the party was read out by the CM.

Fadnavis said every BJP workers should keep faith in the party and the government. "The decision like bringing in coal for power generation in load shedding areas and declaring drought-like situation in 19,000 villages and giving them financial aid without going through lengthy procedures will help farmers in the long run. But along with this, the party will have to take tough decisions and may also have to withdraw few schemes to strengthen the existing government agencies which have been weakened," he said.

Along with hundreds of others, music composer Anu Malick, Pinaz Masani ghazal singer, art director Nitin Desai and Marathi film actor Sandeep Kulkarni also joined the party.

"After Modi's government came to power at the Center, the political scene in the country has changed. All the developed country and first world nations are feeling proud to be associated with us. Spain consul general in Mumbai also complimented us and said that they are looking at a long term relationship with the Maharashtra government," Fadnavis said.
