In Dockyard Road and Byculla, DNA found that residents were not expecting things to change this monsoon. Debris and garbage blocking drains is a common sight for them. At one place, the grill covering a drain was missing, causing a two-wheeler rider to have an accident.

At Sankli Street, which is close to the E ward office it falls under, residents are excited about the newly installed storm water pipelines. However, the cynics — soured by years of flooding — feel poor quality of work and materials will eventually cause problems.

In Tardeo too, residents are not holding their breath in anticipation of any drastic changes. Years of ongoing roadwork has made bumpy commute a normal experience for them, and so monsoon potholes will not be a new agonising experience.Want to join us on the audit?
