The Bombay High Court last week directed a daughter-in-law to allow her in-laws, entry into the kitchen and terrace of their house, doors of which were allegedly locked by her and also adhesive was poured into it.

The elderly couple aged 80 and 77 years have approached the court, stating that they are being harassed because of the fight between their son and daughter-in-law.

Justice S J Kathawala while hearing a suit filed by the in-laws, seeking directions to the daughter-in-law to vacate the house, as they are tired of the harassment caused by her said "The kitchen shall be opened, if necessary by breaking open the locks and all the parties shall have access to the kitchen/terrace in the said bungalow."

The woman also undertook before the court to remove, the articles lying in the room (children's room) from which the parties have access to the terrace and thereafter all the parties shall be free to use the terrace. She also undertook before the court to not enter the pooja room.

The court said "If the locks on the room from which access can be gained to the terrace and/or the lock on the terrace door, if any, are not opened as agreed and undertaken hereinabove, the in-laws shall be at liberty to break open the locks and have access to the same."

The court on an earlier hearing has directed the Juhu Police, to provide protection to the elderly couple from their daughter-in-law. The court has now posted the matter for further hearing on November 19.
