Former Flipkart employees Mukesh Bansal and Ankit Nagori have teamed up to launch a healthcare, sports and fitness start-up.

Bansal, the former head of commerce and advertising at Flipkart, and Nagori, Flipkart's ex-chief business officer quit the e-commerce company last month, and will now be pooling in $5 million (around Rs 33.3 crore) for the launch initially, a report by Mint says.

While the duo plans to register the company next month, they will launch an app sometime next year. The hiring process for getting engineers onboard has already started.

The report quotes Nagori saying that there's a need to connect players, referees, coaches, communities to form communities. "This is one opportunity but we have to figure out if the underlying infrastructure is good enough or not. If not, we might have to start building out infrastructure also," he added.

Nagori said that the new start-up will use technology to scale the business and in the future, the duo will also look at financial services, education and skill-building "to touch a billion lives".

While earlier Nagori and Bansal were expected to launch to separate enterprises, they later decided to team up.

Nagori said that their idea was to get into something which had the ability to impact many people.
