The Reserve Bank of India has reallocated the portfolios of its deputy governors, in a move that was expected after Raghuram Rajan stepped down from the governor's seat and Dr Urjit Patel, one of the deputy governors of the central bank took over. 

Deputy Governor R Gandhi will be incharge of the monetary policy department, which was earlier a part of Patel's portfolio.
