Television actress Adaa Khan visited East Canada for the first time recently. What’s more, it was a solo trip for her, something she has done a number of times in the past. “I love travelling alone. When you are by yourself, it’s all your plan and you are the decision maker. You can enjoy to the fullest because you have your personal space,” she explains and tells us more about her journey.

Special trip

I planned this trip a while ago. But my continuous shoot schedule for my shows (Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil and India’s Next Superstars) prevented me from going there. So, this time when I got a break from filming, I took off for a seven-day sojourn to East Canada. There, I went to Toronto, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Ottawa and more. Also, a close friend had shifted to Toronto. I got a chance to meet her and that made the vacation more special.

Toronto

In Toronto, I visited the beautiful Castle Lowa. It was built by Sir Henry Pellatt in 1914 and it’s so huge that it will take you a full day to check out the entire place. Since I am bigtime into adventure sports, I also did the Edge Walk on the 118th floor of the CN Tower. It was a crazy experience. You can see the whole city from up there.

Montreal and Ottawa

There are gorgeous monuments, churches and museums in Montreal and Ottawa. The former was my favourite place to see because it’s so scenic, lively and colourful. La Grand roue de Montreal or the Wheel of Montreal is one of the major tourist attractions and a must-visit. When you sit on the Ferris wheel, you can view the whole city. I went to Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Home to the Parliament of Canada, the building looks like a castle. It is also open for the tourists to visit and at night, they have a show with lights and the history of the place.

Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls are breathtaking and serene. I went on a cruise that takes you right near the falls and it was like Heaven. I also did the zipline there. Travelling gives you experiences that are important. It not only rejuvenates you, but also heals your soul. You meet new people and see new places, which change your perspective about life.
