TRENDING NOW

Sixties and seventies aesthetic are refusing to die out - crop tops paired with lehengas and dhoti pants are still very much trending and boho maxi kaftans show no signs of disappearing anytime soon - whether it's the ramp or racks. Here is the low-down on some of the major looks which caught our attention from Amazon India Fashion Week

Rajesh Pratap Singh

The King of pink-tucks created a hospital on the ramp where it all begins and ends as the musical trinity of Karsh Kale, Ankur Tewari and Grain performed. Hand-sewn garments made of leather and wool reflecting suture seam (also used in medical surgery) reinforced Pratap's push on tailoring and structuring techniques. Surface texturing and colour blocking added gravitas to this seminal offering.

Nikasha

Strong luscious colours have always been Nikasha's forte. Known for her Kantha embroidery and ombre techniques - she stuck to her signature style. Fringed full-skirted maxis, one-shoulder tunics paired with sari pants and pleated crop tops worn with dhoti pants said -Festive Resort. The line titled Ruby gloried in colour blocking and clever usage of degrade.

Anju Modi

After seducing us with lyrical offerings like Alice in Wonderland and Draupadi in the past, Anju Modi went youthful and kitschy this time. Pairing her assymterical anarkalis and pants with sporty trainers - the line exuded bohemian luxe. Offsetting moody greys with luscious red and clashing florals with stripes - models wore fairy-tale-ish head-gears adding to the magpie and nomadic allure.

The couturier's gimlet-eyed focus shifted to Russia this time as models sporting embellished headgears trotted in cape jackets worn over volumnious kurtas paired with churidaars. A belted sari worn with fur caught our attention. Floor-length maxi dresses with deep neck lines and models wearing dramatic long veils spelled - grandeur, regalia and elegance - the three words which always prominently appear in JJ's style vocabulary.
