The state government will not take any action which can hurt the sentiments of Jain community, says Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, hinting that plan to acquire land of Padampura temple for proposed Greenfield Airport has been shelved. Raje’s statement comes after Jain Muni Shri Tarun Sagar met her on Friday at her residence to register protest against proposal of the acquisition.

“The religious places are the centres of people’s faith and the government will not take any action that can damage such places.

The Jain community needs to trust the government and also it need not worry about the safety of their pilgrimage sites - Padampura and Barkheda. Our government will not allow hurting sentiments of the community,” said Raje, adding she has unbroken faith in these pilgrimage sites. Saint Tarun Sagar reached at the CM’s residence  in a procession along with his followers. Raje come to to recive and sought his blessings. “Raje is polite leader and she walks the talk. She has assured me that the government will not take land of the temples,” said the saint while talking to media.

He has also announced to shelve the procession on Sunday in wake of Raje’s assurance which the community had scheduled as an opposition to the government’s plan of acquisition. The community representatives have welcomed to Raje’s statement, though they want it on paper. “Now, the CM should order for amendment in planning of Greenfield airport leaving out the land of Padampura temple on paper. This will further deepen te faith of community people in Raje’s words. We are also postponing our silent march and other protests in wake of Raje’s assurance,” said Sudhir Jain, president of Atishay Khetra Padampura Management Committee, in a press conference.

Notably, the government intends to acquire land of 21 villages for Greenfield Airport and it’s proposes acquisition of land falling under Padampuraa and Barkhera temples. “Few Muslims are here who don’t like India while few Hindus are there in Pakistan who also not like Pakistan. So the right solution is bring those hindus to India and send these Muslims to Pakistan. This is how condition will be improved. India is just like Jannat for Muslims where live with safety, dignity and comfort,” says saint Muni Tarun Sagar.
