This Udaipur school yet to see the light of day

Even after more than seven decades of independence, the state education department is yet to establish an accessible education system for the poor and tribals. With no building in place and dearth of teachers, Government Primary School of Ghori Panchayat in Kherwara assembly area of Udaipur district is one of those several institutions which are on the receiving end of the lax attitude of the authorities.

Due to the absence of school building, the students are studying in the house of a villager. Not only this, making their children study in the courtyard has become a compulsion for the villagers as there is no other school near the village. The starting of this primary school was approved in the year 2013, when a villager Pappu allowed to use his house for the same as there were no proper arrangements in place.

Currently, the primary school has 48 students enrolled in classes 1 to 5. But, only one teacher is employed in the school on deputation. President of School Development Committee Bhimabhai Maharaj said that the residents of the village have informed about the issue to the Primary Education Officer several times, but neither the land has been allotted for the construction of the school building, nor the building has been built. The students of all the classes are taught together in the same courtyard.

It is quite ironic that while on one hand the government is doing show of strength through Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra and on the other the development works in the tribal and rural areas are still in doldrums.
