Two major decisions have been taken by the department of mines. On Thursday, it issued auction notification of 31 small plots of bajri in the state and made the process of e-auction of mining leases and contracts easy.

The mining directorate on Thursday issued notification of 31 small plots for auction of bajri. All these plots are of sizes between 5 and 50 hectares and are situated in Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Ajmer , Bhilwara and Chittorgarh. On these plots, one time premium amount bid will be carried out online and the amount can be paid in four installments.  The auction will be conducted as per the rules issued in a notification on March 14 by the state government.

Notably, state government had changed the policy of earlier government of auctioning big plot sizes and had decided to make it more transparent by doing auction of small plot sizes.  Discussions related to this were done in the just ended budget session of assembly.

Meanwhile, state government has also made amendments in Rajasthan minor mineral concession rules of 2017, in which now the auction for mining leases quarries and royalty contract will be done in one step instead of two.

Previously the bidding was done in two stages. Relevant documents were submitted and initial bid was made in the first stage. In the second stage online auction was carried out.
