The CM Jansamwad (public dialogue) in Pilani on Thursday paved way for development in Jhunjhunu district as CM Vasundhara Raje announced Rs 910 crore for road infrastructure development. The public dialogue also put on track a demand for broadening of road that had been pending for almost five decades.
“The chief minister called up PWD minister Yunus Khan and instructed him on the issue of widening 54km long single lane road from Rajgarh to Haryana state border,” said an official. “The project is estimated to cost Rs 164 crore and the demand for it was pending for 50 years,” he added.
During the chief minister’s discussions with local community representatives issues concerning infrastructure development emerged as a major demand. Accordingly, she announced new projects and instructed for improvement as required. She even rushed a team of officials for videography of road damaged due to RUIDP project works.
Seeking report of the incident, she instructed that in future no works involving excavation of roads be carried without due permission of the district collector. The RUIDP officials were ordered to get the roads repaired with immediate effect to avoid further inconvenience to public.
Chief minister also expressed concern on hardships being faced by people residing in schemes developed by private colonisers. Even as she maintained that development of basic infrastructure at these colonies is responsibility of the coloniser, she warned the officials against issuing no objection certificate to colonies prior to development of facilities such as sewerage, water and electricity.
Long pending issues such as missing road link between villages and demand for commencement of new subjects at school also got attention of CM Raje and instructions were made accordingly to address the demands.
CM FLAGS OFF ANNAPURNA VAN
Chief minister’s visit to Pilani also brought the gift of affordable breakfast and lunch for the needy sections as she flagged off two Annapurna vans for. These vans, part of CM’s flagship scheme, provide breakfast for Rs 5 and lunch for Rs 8. The CM instructed these vans to be stationed at areas such as hospitals to ensure that their benefit is extended to maximum number of people.
PROBE OF IRREGULARITIES AT FOOD SECURITY
Representatives from one Akuda village alleged that village Sarpanch Mohanlal Sharma was indulging in corruption. They alleged that the Sarpanch is drawing concessional food supply on behalf of deceased people by showing them alive. CM instructed investigation into the allegations.
