The city police were thrown into a tizzy when the police control room on Thursday evening received a call about a bomb at chief minister’s residence, which later turned out to be a hoax. The cops launched a search to trace the caller and the call was traced to a mobile phone whose sim had been issued in the name of one Parmesh Kumar Meena, who has been taken into custody for questioning.
Following the phone call, Jaipur commissioner Sanjay Agarwal along with several DCO and officials from scores of police stations rushed to CM’s residenc at 8, Civil Lines and cordoned off the area. They conducted an extensive search there and also pressed into service sniffer dogs and the bomb disposal squad. The search went on for hours and not only covered the outer areas of the residence but inside also. The vehicular traffic was also diverted from the area to avert any untoward incident.
