The budget session commencing from February 5 is likely to be stormy. The Congress has sketched a strategy to corner Raje government on all fronts including BJP’s debacle in Ajmer, Alwar and Mandalgarh bypolls which its termed a mandate against the policies of the government.

With a clean sweep in bypolls the Congress gets fresh energy.

The party has won Ajmer, Alwar parliamentary and Mandalagarh assembly consistencies which it snatched from BJP. The one-sided victory has increased tally of representatives in both Lok Sabha and Rajasthan assembly. Now, Congress has 25 MLAs including Vivek Dhakar who registered victory from Mandalargh.

As general assembly election is nearing, the opposition Congress gets a booster with the victory.

It is storing ammunition to launch a scathing attack on the ruling BJP members. Needless to say the Congress members will leave no stone unturned to take a whip, jibe or comment on BJP ministers and MLAs.

After fighting eight bypolls seats in the past fours, Congress tally has reached 25 while BJP was reduced to 160 from 163 in the assembly.

The strength of Congress is still much lower compared to the BJP, though the party is high on morale and its leader is ready to question ‘why people mandated against the BJP’ in the house.

“The historical bypoll results have come as a boost for Congress.

We will definitely raise issue of people’s mandate against the BJP during the budget session and try to corner it.

Also, the party will raise the issue of law and order, farmers loan waiver and unemployment,” said Rameshwer Dudi, Leader of Opposition (LoP), while talking to DNA.

Assembly Bites

Dudi recently held a public hearing at his residence in which he received about 2,000 memorandums from people. The leader said that the litany of memorandums is an indication of the misrule of the Raje government.
