Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday reached Badnore to console the family of Thakur Raghuraj Singh who had recently died. He was the elder brother of Punjab governor VP Singh. The CM went to governor Singh’s residence Jal Mahal and offered floral tribute to late Raghuraj Singh.

As per tradition of the erstwhile royal family, Raje went to women section where female members of the family were present. She expressed her grief. Later, she went for darshan of erstwhile royal family’s kuldevi Chamunda Mata and spoke to local women. They apprised her of resource crunch for the repair of Badnore Fort. Raje assured them of every possible help.

The local women also thanked chief minister for the revival of closed mines in the area. Villagers also gave her memorandum regarding their problems. There was huge crowd after receiving news of the CM’s visit. Local BJP workers also reached there.

During the CM’s visit, her son Dushyant Singh, divisional commissioner of Ajmer HS Meena, IG Malini Agarwal, BJP district president Damodar Agarwal, Zila Pramukh Shakti Singh, UIT chairman Gopal Khandelwal, Asind MLA Ramlal Gurjar, district collector Muka Agarwal and SP Pradeep Mohan Sharma were present.

Thakur Raghuraj Singh was elder son of Thakur Gopal Singh Rathore of 210 villages. He was born on February 23, 1938 and died on March 6, 2018 at Durlabhji hospital.  He was 18th Thakur in the chronology of the Medtia family. The 85-year-old Raghuraj Singh also served as principal of the Mayo College. He was quite popular because of his jovial nature. Locals liked him because of his ability to get problems resolved quickly. He has two sons elder Thakur Ranjay Singh who will now get the throne and younger Sanjay Singh Rathore.
