Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot has slammed the BJP government for ignoring the issues of the farmers and dividing the society on caste lines, while speaking on the home turf of chief minister Vasundhara Raje, in Jhalarapatan. He attended ‘Mera Booth Mera Gaurav’ programme here, which the party is holding in all 200 Assembly constituencies in a phases-wise manner.
It is for the second time that Pilot attended the programme in Hadauti region wherein Raje has a strong clout and the saffron party currently retains 16 out of 17 seats spread in four districts- Jhalawar, Kota, Baran and Bundi. On April 23, Pilot kicked-off divisional level programme from Kota. BJP governments both at the Center and State were on the radar of the PCC chief during his speech, be it an issue of inflated prices of fuel, farmers committing suicide or incidents of social disharmony.
“The BJP has broken the spine of commoners with its anti-people policies while the Congress continuously served the people selflessly. Instead of debating and sorting out issues in the mass interest the BJP government has divided the society on castes and community lines. It is really surprising that fuel prices have been rocketing for past two week but not a single minister or saffron party leader reacted on it,” said Pilot while addressing workers in Jhalarapatan.
Pilot also raised the issue of farmers saying, “The farmers trusted the BJP government at the time of election, but this section has been completely ignored by the BJP government so far. The state of farmers is so pathetic that they are forced to commit suicide.”
