Birth & death certificates to get new ‘Pehchan’ from April 1

The State Government has started the trial of issuing birth and death certificates through the ‘Pehchan’ website and mobile app.

Now city people will be able to get the birth and death certificates without any charge sitting at home. Anybody can download the certificate from the state government’s website and mobile app ‘Pehchan’. In order to make some amendments in the certificate, then only people have to visit a municipal office.

The State Government has started the trial of issuing birth and death certificates through the ‘Pehchan’ website and mobile app. This will be fully implemented from April 1. In the first phase, the birth and death registration certificates will be issued which are created after September 1, 2014.Certificates made before September 1, 2014 will be issued only from the Municipal Offices. JMC Commissioner Ravi Jain has instructed all deputy commissioners, registrars and deputy registrars to make a digital signature on the birth and death certificates.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Anyone can download the ‘Pehchan’ app on their mobile. Birth or death certificates can be obtained following the instructions available on the app. The applicant will have to give his mobile number and e-mail id to get the certificate on ‘Pehchan’ website and the mobile app. OTP will come after feeding the mobile number. After OTP verification, the certificate will open. The PDF file of the certificate will also be available on the email ID.

10 RUPEES PER COPY

At present, the first certificate is free. After this, 10 rupees per copy will be charged. This certificate will get free on mobile app and website.
