8 parties set to debut in Rajasthan assembly election

In a period of just three months, eight new political parties have thrown their hats into Rajasthan assembly election ring and have got themselves registered in the state between June and September. These political parties got themselves registered with the election commission between June 20 and September 26 and will be in the fray to challenge the bigger parties.

These new entrants in the state include Bharat Vahini Party (BVP) of Ghanshyam Tiwari has already set its wheels in motion with the party workers holding regular meeting in various wards of the city. Tiwari, who was a prominent BJP leader once, parted ways with the BJP in June and soon after formed his own party in August.

Apart from BVP, the other parties which have got themselves registered are Sarv Shakti Dal, Bhartiya Jan Satta Party, Abhinav Rajasthan, Rajasthan Janta Party, Khushal Kisan Party, Rashtriya Atulya Yuva Party and Green Party of India. This data was issued by election commission through an order on October 15. In past as well, everal new political parties have registered themselves just before the elections and have contested polls in the state. In coming few days the voters will get to hear about the campaigns of these political parties as at present they are in the process of finalisation of tickets.

In the last assembly elections in 2013, total 56 parties were in the fray and that also included national parties, state parties and 40 registered (unrecognised) parties. Out of these 40 parties, NUZP (Zamindara Party) got two seats in the assembly elections.

Election experts are all eyes for how these political parties will fare and dent the political prospects of the heavyweights.
