2 unidentified miscreants open fire at cops in Dholpur

Unidentified miscreants opened fire at cops late on Monday night in Dholpur district resulting in injuries to a constable as the bullet grazed his arm. The cops were on routine patroling when they came across two men on a bike and signalled them to stop. However, the men opened fire and fled from the spot. The information was passed on to senior officials who ordered barricading in the area, but they could not be nabbed. Meanwhile a case has been registered and search for unidentified men has been initiated.

According to the police, the incident occurred at 12.45 am in Daang area under Baadi Sadar police station area of Dholpur. “The Dholpur police conducts regular patroling and barricading in this area due to regular inputs about miscreants and criminals. On Monday night too two officials from Baadi Sadar police station were patroling on a bike when while croasing Daang area, the cops saw a bike approaching them from opposite side,” said Dusht Daman Singh, SP, Dholpur.

One constable Dharamveer of Baadi Sadar police signalled the unidentified men on bike to stop. However, before they could come to a halt, one man pulled out a gun and fired upon the cops. The bullet grazed Dharamveer’s right arm and he fell on the road. The other cop got down from bike to attend to Dharamveer. Taking advantage of this situation, the two men fled on their bike while taking cover of darkness,” officials said.
