Vadodara: Venkataraman Ramakrishnan is no longer an unknown name for anybody. After being selected for the Nobel prize for chemistry, many people in this city have come up with stories about their association with 'Venki', and remember him as a decent, soft-spoken, at times a naughty young chap, but a diligent student.

DNA tried to find more about the scientist through a different medium. A graphologist, Pradip Pofali, analysed a letter written by him in his own handwriting to get interesting details about the genius mind's personality.

Pofali says that the curves and sharpness of Venki's writing show him as an extremely meticulous and focused person. "Venki has a very strong analytical power and has a tendency to delve deep into things till the real cause and process is understood. He believes in clarity of thoughts and rationality takes place the core place in his behaviour. A highly practical man, he has strong attachment with work people.

"Venki's expression through text and graphology traits in the letter reveals that he believes in strong bond with people, and is a content man. If he takes someone as a friend, he will be genuinely affectionate to him. The curves of the alphabet and straight, clean writing shows that Venki has a tendency to look beyond work for results in spite of hurdles and attracting people to join in a mission with enthusiasm. He craves for intellectual satisfaction and his requirement of materialistic things is very low."

But apart from all this, the most interesting part of Pofali's analysis is that Venki prefers to be a loner."This meticulous man is a loner and very selective about the people or group he mingles with.He is even choosy about topics while speaking, and always sticks to the point," the expert says.

According to Pofali, Venky avoids snobbery in every aspect of life - writing, talking, clothing, housing, inter-personal relations and so on."What you see is what you get and there's no beating about the bush - that's Venki's attitude. His writing makes it clear that he has a strong value system, does not expect any endorsement from people about his capabilities because he has adequate level of self-esteem, which he knows is well- founded," says Pofali.

The graphologist quotes management guru Rustomjee to define Venki, "He is a man who gives a feeling of velvet cloth on touch. But if someone tries to squeeze him, he then realises that the core is steel."
