A pregnant local woman, 23, was detected H1N1 positive here on Monday. The woman was admitted to the SSG

hospital here on Sunday after she was found suffering from swine flu symptoms.
According to hospital authorities, the woman's condition is critical. It is the second case in the state when a pregnant woman has been detected H1N1 positive. Ahmedabad had earlier recorded the first case.

The woman, who is a resident of Nizampura area, was suffering from symptoms of swine flu. She was taken to a private doctor, but with the symptoms getting more acute, she was finally admitted to the SSG hospital on Sunday.

Talking to DNA, Resident Medical Officer, Dr Praveenaben Thakkar said, "The condition of the patient is critical since she was admitted on Sunday.”

“We had sent her samples for investigation on an urgent basis, and we received the report on Monday, wherein she was tested H1N1 positive. The condition of the patient is still critical and she has been put on ventilator."
