The government today said militant groups, especially those based abroad, were trying to revive militancy in Punjab but ruled out any nexus between Lashkar-e-Taiba and Babbar Khalsa International.
"Available reports suggest that militant groups, especially those based abroad, continue to persist with their efforts to revive militancy in Punjab," minister of state for home Ajay Maken said in a written reply.
He also said there are no specific inputs at present indicating nexus between Lashkar-e-Taiba and terror groups like Babbar Khalsa International and Khalistan Zindabad Force.
