As many as 14 IPS officers of three states have been questioned so far by sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in connection with the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case and the killing of his wife Kausar Bi. The CBI has allegedly questioned around five IPS officers of Andhra Pradesh recently.

Sources in the CBI said that they need to know the role played by the interrogated officers of AP in the Sohrabuddin case. The CBI has already questioned around four to five IPS officers in Rajasthan and five IPS officers in Gujarat in connection with this case.

CBI sources said they suspect that a thorough legal as well as illegal logistic support was extended by AP police officials to suspended IPS officer Rajkumar Pandiyan, when he reached Hyderabad, allegedly to know the whereabouts of Sohrabuddin, on the basis of a tip-off.

The CBI has allegedly questioned the concerned officers who extended help to Pandiyan for kidnapping Sohrabuddin, when he started out to reach Ahmedabad from Hyderabad.

The CBI has also summoned two senior IPS officers each in Rajasthan and Gujarat. CBI sleuths have also questioned many deputy superintendent officers in Rajasthan.

The CBI team has camped in Andhra Pradesh and may even question other police officials of AP. Sources, however, ruled out the possibility of arresting or even detaining any IPS officer from any of these states. Abhay Chudasama, the suspended IPS officer, is the only IPS officer arrested so far by the CBI in connection with the Sohrabuddin case.
