Senior citizen stabbed to death

Irked over some monetary dispute, a carpenter who worked at the home of a a senior citizen stabbed his employer to death at his house in Shyamal crossroads.

According to Satellite police sources, the carpenter Alpesh Mistry, a resident of Bhavnath society, Chanakayapuri was working for Indervardhan Bapulal Barot, (71) for the last one and a half month.

The victim’s son Jignesh Barot has lodged a complaint against Mistry at the Satellite police station.  Sources said that Indervardhan Barot, a civil engineer and architect owns a house near Oriental Bank of Commerce, Shyamal crossroad.

Barot, who owns the building where Oriental bank of Commerce functions, also has his office on the top floor of the building. Renovation work had been going on at the office for the last one and half month and Barot had given the tender to Ghanshyam Mistry.  Alpesh Mistry worked under Ghanshayam Mistry.

On Monday night Barot was sitting outside his house when Alpesh approached him to discuss some monetary matters. The two had an altercation and Alpesh, who had a knife, stabbed Barot in the chest.

Hearing the commotion, Barot’s wife Neela came out and so did her son Jignesh. Jignesh got hold of Alpesh and was helped by his nephew Karnav Kishore. The accused then pleaded before the duo and told them that he had attacked Barot in anger and that they had an altercation over payment.

Indervardhan, was rushed to Parikh Hospital at Shyamal were he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the Satellite police reached the spot and arrested Alpesh. The Satellite police have lodged a murder case under section 302 of IPC against Alpesh.
