Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today dubbed as "farce" the campaign launched by opposition RJD leader Lalu Prasad against rising prices.

"It is nothing, but a farce," Kumar told reporters here.

The chief minister said RJD had no moral right to agitate on the issue as it was a UPA-I partner when prices had started
increasing.

Referring to Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar's statement on price rise, he asked the central leaders to be careful in their comments as it caused difficulties for states.

"I have full respect for Pawar... but responsible people should bear the fact in mind before making a statement on such a sensitive issue," he said.

He was reacting to Pawar's statement in Pune yesterday that he was "not the only person involved in this process... The prime minister and all of us together decide the price policy."

Kumar said it was a different matter that Pawar's statement did not have any impact on Bihar as there was a cabinet sub-committee headed by deputy chief minister SK Modi which was taking care of controlling price in the state.
