Himachal Pradesh government gives Rs 5 cr to quake-hit Sikkim

Himachal Pradesh government today gave Rs two crore financial aid to quake-hit Sikkim for relief and rescue operations.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal sent a draft of Rs two crore to his Sikkim counterpart Pawan Kumar Chamling from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Dhumal also made a fervent appeal to the people of the state to contribute liberally to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for this humanitarian and noble cause so that the money collected can be sent to the earthquake victims, officials said.
