CPI(M) criticises Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT)

The ruling CPI(M) in Tripura today criticised the opposition tribal party, Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) for alleging that that the continuous surrender of insurgents from outlawed outfits was 'stage managed drama'.
   
CPI(M) spokesman Gautam Das told reporters that the delegation of the INPT which met Union Tribal Welfare minister Kanti Lal Bhuriya on Tuesday alleged that the insurgents who were surrendering to the security forces after fleeing from their base camps in neighbouring Bangladesh was a 'stage managed drama'.
   
"The INPT, which is the mask of the underground National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) made such allegations because their base was eroding and they would not be able to use insurgents of different outfits for their narrow political ends," the CPI(M) spokesman claimed.
    
Das alleged that the INPT delegation led by insurgent turned politician, Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl asked the Centre to withdraw the Central ParaMilitary Forces from the distributed areas in the state for creating trouble before elections of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) slated for March, 2010.
   
The TTAADC constitutes two third of the state territory where the tribals who constitute one third of the population.
