Commissioner says Delhi police fully prepared for Commonwealth Games

Delhi police commissioner YS Dadwal today expressed satisfaction over the security preparations for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, saying the force is trained, ready and positioned.

"As far as we are concerned, we are fully prepared. Delhi police is trained, ready and positioned... I am satisfied," Dadwal told reporters on the sidelines of Delhi police passing out parade in the capital.

Asked whether the force has got enough time for security drills, he answered in the affirmative and said the force was in "perfect condition" and that all practices and drills will be completed in time.

On reports about the army being asked to be on standby for Games security, Dadwal said he was in touch with the army.

"There is still times for the Games," Dadwal replied when pointed out that CCTVs were yet to be installed in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main venue of the October 3-14 sporting event.
