The police today arrested an auto rickshaw driver, a native of Rajasthan, in connection with the sexual assault case on a Taiwanese woman in the city, police said.

The police today arrested an auto rickshaw driver, a native of Rajasthan, in connection with the sexual assault case on a Taiwanese woman in the city, police said.
"We have arrested one auto rickshaw driver Punam Dhobi, a native of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan in connection with the sexual assault case on a foreign national in the city," joint commissioner of police sector I, Satish Sharma told reporters.
A case of rape was registered by the police at Vastrapur police station yesterday, following a complaint filed by the local friend of the Taiwanese national.
The 22-year-old woman hailing from Taiwan who was working with a private firm here had boarded an auto alongwith her friend from Vastrapur.
After, dropping her friend, the auto driver forcibly took the foreigner to a secluded spot and had sexually assaulter her last night.
The auto driver had also snatched the mobile phone of the foreigner and fled from the spot, police said.
