3.5 lakh Indians safe in Bahrain: Govt

External affairs minister SM Krishna has said about 3,50,000 Indians in Bahrain are safe and the Indian mission there is in touch with them.

As the mass anti-government protests in Bahrain continued for the fifth day on Friday, ministry of external affairs (MEA) spokesman Vishnu Prakash said as of now, there was no plan to evacuate Indians, while foreign secretary Nirupama Rao said the Indian ambassador to Manama was alert to the situation and was in touch with representatives.
