The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will soon approach foreign courts with regard to its probe in connection with the second-generation (2G) mobile telephony spectrum scam, after a team returned from the UK, British Virgin Islands and Isle of Man.

Sources said the team which went to these countries had a formal interaction with the authorities there and some progress will be achieved after the agency moves the courts in Delhi for obtaining further information related to investments and financial transactions.

The ED team had gone to these countries to ascertain and investigate the role of few companies allegedly involved with the Unitech Wireless, which are located in Delhi. The company has been named in the first charge sheet filed by the CBI.

The company's MD Sanjay Chandra is presently in judicial custody in the case.

The agency, during it's visit, also looked for various entities that routed money using the country's financial channels violating forex and anti-money laundering laws.

This visit was the second by the investigating agencies after the return of a four-member team of CBI and ED officials from Mauritius recently.
