Yogi Adityanath orders STF probe into police recruitment exam paper leak, hacking

Out of the total posts advertised, 2,400 were meant for males and 600 were reserved for female candidates. Besides this, 210 vacancies were to be filled for Platoon Commander, and 97 were for the Fire Officers.

Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday cancelled online examination for the recruitment of 3,307 Constables following reports of paper leak and website hacking.

Taking serious note of the paper leakage and hacking, CM Adityanath has cancelled the online examination 2018 for recruitmentof 3,307 Constables and ordered a probe by the UP STF. About 1.2 lakh candidates had applied for the posts.

Out of the total posts advertised, 2,400 were meant for males and 600 were reserved for female candidates. Besides this, 210 vacancies were to be filled for Platoon Commander, and 97 were for the Fire Officers.

The Additional Diretor General (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said that the company which was given the task for conducting online examination in 22 districts has registered an FIR at the Cyber Cell. "The probe has been handed over to a high-level team of the STF," he added.

After taking over as the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that his government will recruit as many as 1.50 lakh police personnel in next five years to strengthen the police force in Uttar Pradesh. He had said a target of recruiting about 31,000 police staff this financial year and had allocated funds for the same in his maiden budget.

He had also simplified the cumbersome police recruitment process and had scrapped written papers. To bring transparency in recruitment, he had directed for online examination so that only deserving gets into the police force. Erstwhile Akhilesh Yadav government was accused of partisan role in conducting police recruitment exams. The matter had to the High Court also and finally exams were scrapped

But, unfortunately, during the first online exams itself, preparations of the Yogi government to deal with the cheating mafias and was exposed when not only papers were leaked but also the website was hacked.
