  • Celebrate victory at Ahmedabadat 7pm
  • Not likely to be in Varanasi

The poster boy of BJP will be glued to the television set at his official residence in Gandhinagar and is not likely to seen in public before counting of votes gives clear indication that BJP and NDA is in position to form the next government at the centre. The prime ministerial candidate of saffron party will be in national capital to attend parliamentary board scheduled on Saturday to discuss poll results and possible government formation.

As in the past, state leadership remained tight lipped about the schedule of Narendra Modi on the result day. However, whispers from the party sources confirmed that the man will address at least two public rallies at Vadodara and Ahmedabad after getting blessings from his mother provided he is in position to form the government.

Surprisingly, as per the plans available, Narendra Modi is not likely to visit Varanasi on the counting day. Apart from Vadodara in Gujarat, he is also contesting from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Sources said that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will be at his official residence till 4 pm. “He is not likely to seen in public before trends signal a clear victory for the party or coalition. After the trends are clear he is likely to see his mother –Hiraba, who lives in Gandhinagar and depart for Vadodara,” a close aide party’s prime ministerial nominee said.

Large celebrations in Ahmedabad and Gujarat has been planned by the party to celebrate Narendra Modi’s victory as prime minister of the country. “Rallies, victory marches and maha aarti are planned at each district in the evening. Several supporters of the party and Modi have also planned carnivals at personal level,” party spokesperson IK Jadeja said.

It should be noted that at the beginning of the campaigning in Gujarat, state BJP had planned to win all 26 seats of the state. However, it is unlikely to achieve the target as exit polls and political experts predict 20-21 seats for BJP in Gujarat. If it manages to win above 20 LS seats from the state, it will be a record for the party in state.

In Vadodara, Narendra Modi is contesting against Madhusudan Mistry, a veteran Congress leader. Party workers and senior leaders have worked hard in Vadodara to ensure that Modi wins with a record margin here. “A victory rally is planned to celebrate Modi’s victory in Vadodara. He is likely to reach Vadodara between 4 and 5 in the evening and will address public at Market Char Rasta on Friday,” party general secretary Vijay Rupani said.

Later in the evening, Narendra Modi will address a public rally at Ahmedabad. “We have planned a big public rally in the city to celebrate victory at the state and national level. Narendra Modi is likely to address the rally around 7 pm on Friday. Actual timing may vary depending on his arrival from Vadodara,” Rupani added.
