Traffic police constable thrashed by BJP leader's family members in Guna, MP for doing his job

The constable was attacked as he fined three girls belonging to the BJP leader's family for violating traffic rules.

A police constable was attacked by four to five men in Guna, Madhya Pradesh by family members of a local BJP leader, reported NDTV.

The incident reportedly took place after three girls belonging to BJP block president Shobhna Raghuvanshi’s family was stopped by the cops for riding a scooter without a helmets. When they were fined, they called up their family members.

The BJP leader’s husband, Rajiv Raghuvanshi arrived at the spot with some supporters and in the ensuing scuffle, Ashutosh Tiwari was pushed to the ground and attacked. Another policeman who tried to intervene was threatened by Raghuvanshi.

As another policeman tries to intervene, Rajiv Raghuvanshi is seen in a video threatening him. According to the police, two people have been taken into custody but not the BJP leader’s husband. Ashutosh Tiwari said: "12 people barged into the control room where I was. They grabbed me by the collar and started beating me up. My staff saved me. I have bruises....”

Meanwhile, Raghuvanshi said: "The girls called up my brother saying they were being fined for traffic violation. When we came here, a few words were exchanged with the police and then during the heated argument, they started pushing each other. Then the cops filed a one-sided case.”
