After voices of dissent and dissatisfaction over ticket distribution becoming louder, CM Vasundhra Raje got into a damage control mode on Sunday.
She along with her trusted strategist Bhupendra Yadav summoned the leaders and MLAs from Barmer, Bharatpur and Sikar where the party’s certain sections have been condemning the leadership for not giving ticket to rightful candidates.
While there was agitation going on in Sikar against his candidature, party’s candidate Swami Sumedhanand was summoned at the chief minister’s residence. He along with party leaders including Ratan Jaldhaari, Hariram Ranwa, Jhabarsingh Kharra and others disused the party’s further strategy and the ways and means to pacify the angry party workers . The meeting went on till late evening.
All MLAs of Barmer were also called after senior party leader Jaswant Singh openly defied party’s choice Col Sonaram form Barmer.
All MLAs attended the meeting except Manvendra Singh who is son of Jaswant Singh and MLA from Shiv (Barmer). “Now he (Manvendra) will fall ill,” quipped an MLA.
After the meeting, the MLAs said that they were with the candidate chosen by the party and they would accompany him and the chief minister when Col Sonaram goes to file his nominations. “We are with the candidate who has been given ticket by the party,” said Amraram Choudhary, Pachpadra MLA.
The series of meetings started with MLAs and partymen from Bharatpur. All MLAs of region were present including Jagat Singh, Vijay Bansal, Krishendra Kaur Deepa and others. Party candidate Bhadaur Koli was also called.
