Subdivisional magistrate booked in cop suicide case

Police has registered a case against a subdivisional magistrate in connection with suicide of a police official.

Police official Brijender Singh yesterday hanged himself from a tree and left a note alleging he had been harassed by subdivisional magistrate (SDM) Damodar Gupta in whose court he was posted in Meerut division.

According to circle officer Vinod Sirohi, police registered a case under section 306 IPC against Gupta following a complaint lodged by the deceased's son Arvind Kumar.
