On Wednesday, when asked questions about his late wife Sunanda Pushkar's mysterious death, Former Union minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor lost his cool and called the media 'self-appointed liars and scum'.
The incident followed after a Delhi court asked the Delhi police to conduct lie-detector tests in the Sunanda Pushkar murder case on three suspects.
Last week, the Delhi police had moved the court with an application seeking a lie detection test for the three suspects -- Tharoor's domestic help Narayan Singh, his driver Bajrangi and his friend Sanjay Dewan -- in the murder case.
On Wednesday, the three suspects agreed to undergo the lie detector test, after the court allowed it.
When the media questioned him regarding this he blasted off on them. Later he took to Twitter to express his angst.
Scummy channel accuses me of evading questions. I speak to the police &investigators, not to self-appointed vigilante liars. Told them so.

These vile people have sunk so low today in their venal desire to profit from a personal tragedy that my 17month-old silence finally cracked

I let myself down by shouting in fury at a badgering hack whom i had often been kind to. Won't again. I regret giving them the satisfaction.

Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union Minister Tharoor, was found dead in the hotel suite on January 17 last year, days after a public spat on Twitter where she accused her husband of having an affair with the Pakistani journalist.
In the first week of January this year, police claimed that Sunanda Pushkar (51) was poisoned, and registered a murder case against unknown persons.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed to probe the case, is learnt to be looking into a possible link with Indian Premier League.
