Reducing power consumption can cut on cost in textile sector

On the concluding day of National Textile Summit on Saturday, experts delivered lectures on ways to cut down cost on textile manufacturing, apart from ways for establishing small-scale industries.

The MP unit of the National Textile Association of India organised two-day summit.

MP chapter head of The Textile Association of India, NS Nirvan in a statement said that technical sessions were organised on issues including small industries, power conservation and cost cutting in textile sector.

Textile expert Santosh Tawse said that power bills contribute heavily to the total cost incurred in textile production and power bills could be reduced by installing power saving instruments.

He also made a presentation regarding power saving technologies for industries.
A workshop on small garment industries was also organised in which experts told the youths about ways for establishing small industries for manufacturing shirts, trousers, bags from waste paper, fiber bags etc.

Besides, entrepreneurs, large number of textile engineering students were present in the workshop. Faculty members from Vaishnav engineering college briefed the students about both old and modern techniques of textile manufacturing. On the last day, association had organised life style event at Ravindra Natya Theatre. In this programme, health guru Arun Rishi offered de-stressing tips to entrepreneurs and also taught them to be cheerful in busy life.
