Rajasthan state Congress Committee's Law, Human Rights and RTI departments has lodged a complaint to the Election Commission against BJP national president Amit Shah, state Minister Shrichand Kriplani, BJP MLA Ramhet Yadav over alleged violation of the model code of conduct.

State Congress spokesman Sushil Sharma said that during the Bikaner tour, Shah told people that if leaders of opposition parties visit their villages, grab them by collar. They said this was an attack on the democratic process and is in violation of the model code of conduct as it provokes people to spread unrest.

Coming down heavily on the Congress, Shah on Wednesday had said that in all its years of rule, Congress has promoted three malaise in the country; casteism, family affiliations and appeasement. "This has killed merit and played foul with the future of the youth." He told his cheering audience, "I appeal to you, when Congressmen come to seek your vote, grab them by the collar and ask them to tell you what their governments did for Rajasthan."

Sharma also alleged that Shrichand Kriplani has been trying to scare the voters into voting for them during campaigning. "They are messing with people's feelings and telling them that if he does not win, he will commit suicide, which is also a violation," he added.

Likewise, Ramhet Yadav had said that tractor-trolleys were running under his leadership despite Supreme Court order which is in contempt of the order of the Supreme Court.
