Opposition parties will hold agitations and observe black day on November 8, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetization decision completes one year.

The decision by all Opposition parties to hold protest on a common day coincides with Congress plan to hold a 'black day' on November 8. Many opposition parties said that a rally should be organised on this particular day to oppose the government's policies.

At a meeting to discuss demonetization and its economic fall out, Opposition leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad (Congress), Sitaram Yechury (CPI-M), Sharad Yadav (JDU) D Raja (CPI), Satish Chandra Mishra (BSP), Kanimozhi (DMK) chalked out the calendar for the proposed protest plan.

All the mass organisations of Left parties will hold protests on October 30 while Kisan Sabhas and Morchas will be participating in agitational programmes from November 1 to November 5.

Central trade unions including CITU and AITUC will hold protest marches from November 9 to November 11 to protest against economic policies of the government, CPI leader D Raja told DNA.

Sources that in the meeting, Azad also spoke about the Nitish Kumar-Sharad Yadav feud in JDU and said that Opposition leaders should stand behind Yadav, who is facing a disqualification threat after opposing Kumar's decision to junk the grand alliance in Bihar and join hands with the BJP.
