"There was 99.6% compliance of the second phase of the Odd-Even rule in the national capital," said Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai on Saturday.
Speaking on the last day of the second phase of the car rationing formula, Rai, quoting the data, said, "8,988 vehicles were fined for violating the odd-even rule in the second round and considering the number of vehicles which ply on roads daily in the capital, it shows 99.6% people complied with the odd-even rule in the second phase."
However 10,058 vehicles were fined during first round of the 'Odd-Even'.
While replying on the impact on pollution level of the car rationing formula, Rai said, "DPCC data shows less pollution was observed in inner circle of Delhi. However, the borders areas remained high on the level of air pollution."
He also said that the comprehensive data of pollution will be released on May 9.
"The world is comparing the two phases of odd-even rule and after this now America, Mexico, Beijing and Moscow have shown curiosity to implement the car rationing formula in their respective countries. Subsequently the states like Haryana, Maharashtra and others also planning to implement odd even," the Transport Minister added.
While speaking to media on the questions of success of the Odd-Even part two, he said, "The odd even round two was tough than part one but Delhi followed it wholeheartedly. But now we have two models of odd even implemented in two weather winters and summers to study and after reading the comprehensive result of study we will announce odd even part three."
The Delhi Government had called for program on May 4 to thank the people of Delhi and all the departments who were part of the 'Odd-Even'. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the entire Delhi Cabinet would be a part of this event.
"Delhi adjusted and cooperated despite chilling heat and when schools are open", said the Transport Minister.
"Odd-Even rule has changed the mindset. New generation has learned the importance of reducing private transportation. There was an increase in percentage of commuters in metro by 2.5 to three percent during the Odd-Even," he said.
The Delhi Government has also formed a committee headed by transport commissioner to increase metro frequency from its present capacity in the national capital.
"The delegation of Moscow shared their experience of public transport where metro frequency is around 1 to 1.5 minute hence we have formed a committee headed by Transport commissioner to study it and increase frequency of metro from its usual frequency of 2 to 2.5 minute", said Rai.
While addressing the PhD chamber of commerce city, the Transport Minister spoke on common mobility card for metro and buses.
"Electronic ticketing process to be completed machines by end of July and Common mobility card for metro and buses to go under trail from July this year and CCTV cameras for DTC buses are under tendering process", said Rai.
The Delhi Government has already announced premium bus aggregator scheme.
