Asserting that he has no intention to join politics, former Army chief General VK Singh today claimed that his sole objective was to root out corruption from the present system of governance.

"My sole objective is to create awareness among the people regarding corruption prevailing in the present system of governance," Singh told reporters here.

Expressing his concurrence with the requirement of a 'Manch' (outfit) which could effectively combat corruption, he said that evolution of such a Manch was taking place automatically as he was actively engaged in seeking alignment of all those, who were committed to remove corruption from the society.

Gen Singh, while replying to a question of the mediapersons yesterday regarding brutal killing of the two Indian soldiers along LoC recently, said the Indian Army was competent to take action in the matter.
