In a startling revelation that has the potential to dent the already sinking Congress fortunes further, former union home secretary RK Singh, who recently joined the BJP, accused union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde of shielding a businessman close to India’s most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim.
In an interview to a TV channel, Singh said, “Shinde prevented the Delhi Police from interrogating a businessman involved in the IPL match fixing case. Agencies suspect this businessman has links with underworld don Dawood.” Singh also accused him of lying by claiming that America’s FBI has not given assurance on netting Dawood. Union home ministry did not react to the statement.
