Fire is yet to be brought under control

A massive fire has broken out near Dum Dum Park in Kolkata on Saturday evening.
Over 70 shanties have been reduced to ashes and more than 350 people have to spend the night homeless braving the December chill. Police have confirmed that one person has died in the incident. Several cooking gas cylinders blew up in the fire and currently as many as nine fire tenders are working in the area.
According to the fire department officials, the fire is yet to be brought under control.

The state labour minister Purnendu Basu has rushed to the spot.
